United Nations in Geneva,Switzerland on April 20, 1993.SoI said, tradition in the United Nations in Geneva, we began withmeditation. Of course you can meditate in which ever way you wishor you are used to. If you have not acquired the habit of meditation,or if you wish to learn a little bit of the basic, I suggest thatyou could close your eyes, and then concentrate on your thirdeye, or the wisdom eye which is a little bit above the eyebrowsand in the middle, like this over here. Yeah! And from there,you look straight. Use this wisdom eye to look straight in frontof this. The invisible screen in front of you. It's like you useyour physical eyes to look into the screen of the movies. Andbe it light or dark, just look into the centre of it. And repeatthe name of God, of Buddhas, or whomever be the Saint that youhave the most faith in.
In this process of meditation, even thoughvery little time, but you may be able to experience some of theheavenly signs. Maybe you see the stars,the moon, the sun. Naturally,it takes some more minutes to quiet down the mind, but you couldtry ten minutes here, and try more at home, if you wish. Thankyou. Are you okay? It's OK now.
I'm very happy for the world that in the UnitedNations, people meditate. Since ancient times, the great kingswere always those who have deep insight, and those who practicemeditation method in order to be connected with heaven and toknow the wilt of heaven before they are able to govern the earth'saffair. That's why since ancient times, the great kings of wisdom,they always rule with a compassionate and wise system. And theirnames always stay forever in the heart of the people. And theynever have to use violence or arm force to conquer but they uselove and wisdom.
And we have reason to feel happy that herein the United Nations, such people exist. Because actually, thepersons in the United Nations are more or less kings of the world,because we don't rule only one nation, but whatever service wedo here affects the whole world. I'm so happy that there is atradition here that we meditate. Yes! Not once a week, but alsoevery day at home. Once a week is only when we get together hereto do it in a symbolic way. But the more important practice carrieson at home, and even at work. Our system of meditation is a continuousprocess 24 hours. For those who seek wisdom, and for those wholikes to serve the world with love and dignity, and of coursewisdom. when we are connected with heaven through different meansof meditation, or deep prayers in sincere longing to know thewill of God, we will be able to serve the world in a better light.Because the light from heaven which comes through meditation willbe able to shine our path in whichever path we choose to servethe world.
Of course here, in the United Nations, yourwork is most noble, most important. I have always been followingthe activities of the United Nations, and I feel very happy thatour earth, our planet, at least has such universal body who servesthe whole world, not only one or two governments and selflessly,sometimes sacrifice even their precious lives for the peace ofthe world, for instance, like in Cambodia the peace army, yes,what you call it? Right? Or in some many other, not very stablecountries. This demand sometimes the sacrifices of personal comfortand safety and even lives. And let's hope in the future, all theworld will heed the advice and the directions of the United Nations.And that we'll live in a more loving atmosphere of brotherhood.And of course the meditation practice which is headed by the group,yes, sure, yes, would be a great benefit. As I have said thatsince ancient times, all the wise kings, they ruled with loveand wisdom, and never with force. So it is very, very good thatthe personnel in the United Nations do meditation together. Thatis very, very touching to know. And if you would like to try someother kind of meditation, and with no condition, no binding, nocharge whatsoever. Just with love to serve the world through you,to let God serve through us. Because the time is not very longso I think I'll let you ask me any questions you wish to.
Questions and Answers Q. About Your vegetarian diet, and what if somebodyhas the willingness to follow and unconsciously or not knowingeats meat, how would that affect?
M.That probably would give you a little bit of a stomach-ache. Butyou meditate a little bit more that day, and that would be noproblem. We can't always avoid. The vegetarian diet is only topropagate more loving kindness which already exists in us. Topolish it more, to bring it to full extent to all beings, includingour younger brothers and sisters. Yeah! But if you, that is, justto show our love and also to polish our compassion. But if wedo something unconsciously, no one can blame us. God would not.
Q. I would like to know what it means, "initiation?"you were talking about the initiation you are making after ortonight...
M.Initiation means, at the time you are very sincerely longing toknow our Kingdom of God within, our own greatness, our inherentwisdom. Yeah. If you want to know that, then we arrange it. Becausewe have it inside, you just forget, don't know where to switchthe button. And because the button is not visible, therefore ithas to be done invisibly within ourselves. So at the time of initiation,the experienced friend or guide will help you to push open thatbutton. And from then on, you enter into the circle of sainthood,and you know your wisdom. And when the button is pushed open,there is some signal. Like bright light coming through, or heavenlymusic. That is the signal of the opening of Kingdom of God withinyou. You already have it, the master or the teacher don't giveyou anything, just help you to rediscover it. That is the initiation.Yeah!
Q. Excuse me. You've done a lot of work recently forthe refugees of the world. How about the drug problem of today?What kind of a visible aid....
M.Yeah! The drug... You're right. Ignorance and frustration of theyoung people of our age. Because many of the so called holy organisationssometimes have failed in satisfying their spiritual need for thehigher meaning of life, more than just materials. Because materialstoday we don't lack. Therefore they're charmed, they're seducedinto taking drugs. Because in taking drugs, sometimes they canhave hallucinations and feel comforted for a very short time.But little did they realise the very great at consequence afterthat. Therefore meditation is the better, is the best way to relieveall these sufferings of people when they want to know God, theywant to know happiness inside. Because our happiness through meditation,through the light and music of heaven is everlasting. And it'salways improved, and always more and more happiness and neverhave any consequence like the drug. If we can propagate more themeditational benefit, then the drug affect on people will be less.People will understand where to turn to for a longer lasting happiness.Yes, Please!
Q. I'd just like to come back to the subject of enlightenmentand initiation which I see You put the word "immediate".
M.Where is it? Oh! My disciples they make troubles for me again.
Q. Immediate enlightenment....
M.Immediate enlightenment means immediate.
Q. But the initiation periods in ancient Egypt, forinstance, were at least seven years.
M.Seven years? Oh! Yeah! I understand.
Q. And usually initiation is regarded as a rather longprocess by which one earns enlightenment.
M.Yes, true.
Q. I know it suits our modem life to say "Burb!"or we can now be enlightened. But I wonder what the process is?
M.OK. In the ancient times, it's not easy to find a master even.Yeah? And if you find one, they test you for long years, testvery long. Like Milarepa of Tibet, tested for years with a lotof scolding and beating sometimes. But today if you do that, themaster will be put in jail. (Laugher) It's not allowed any more.And besides our world with a very fast and advanced way of life,we can't just cling on to that kind of method of testing disciples.Today we have to tune in with the modem pace of the society. Andof course, it makes more troubles for the so called teacher Yeah!Because he has no time to ground the disciples to make him earnwhat is very precious. But what do you think? If a master do that,how more long we will be enlightened? It takes a long time. Yousee the enlightenment is very fast. But the process of seven yearsis to test the disciples and to ground moral discipline into them.Yeah! That is very good also. But because of that, in ancienttimes, not many people are enlightened. And because of ignorance,they crucified Jesus. Because not many people know what enlightenmentis, and what meditation practice is. It's so new and so strange.Therefore today many masters make it open to the public. Thatis the sacrifice of a master. Time, expense, and a lot of effort,to bring the disciples into a fast, moral standard and a veryhigh level of enlightenment. It's different time. (M. Thank You.)You are welcome. Enlightenment doesn't mean you are completelyenlightened. You have a taste of enlightenment, so you are encouragedto go further with it. In the olden times, master don't do that.They let you first work, and how to say, really suffer for it.And then you appreciate it even more. Yes, sure. Any more questions?Yes, please.
Q. Could You define or describe enlightenment, as Youunderstand it?
M.Oh! Yes. There are two levels within our existence. One is theso called ignorance; the other enlightenment. Yeah? And we stepthrough the border, we come into an enlightenment. Enlightenmentimplies light. So when you sit in quietness through the help ofthe experienced teacher, you have light, You see "light"floating through you. Then you feel elevated, you feel changed.You enter into a different dimension. And once you enter in thereand are registered, you never come back again. You still workin the world, still do your business, fulfil your duty as a housewife,a husband, or United Nation personnel, but inside you contactwith a higher world. But not only light that we see, we see beautifulheavenly mansions which like Jesus said, "in my Father'shouse there are many mansions." We can visit, we can seesometimes ancient masters and learn from their wisdom in orderto put this into the use for our daily service to the world. That'swhy we work more effectively. And less effort, but more result.Because we are wiser, we learn from the masters. Because thesemasters never die. They just ascend into a higher level of existence.If we ascend to their level, we'd meet them also. We can learnfrom them. That's a better way than to learn from limited scripturesor Bibles which sometimes we don't understand the meanings anyhow.
Q. What is Your view of life after death? How wouldit be going on?
M.We die every day, during meditation. Many people do not know whatdying is. Because they don't die every day. When we meditate,sometimes we die. We die, but we come back again. Because oursilver cord is not broken yet as it would be at the time of death.So we die, we go to different world, we leave this physical worldfor a while. Maybe sometimes for some hours, or months, like themonk Kung Ching. Yeah! But we come back again. That's the processof death. Just like you walk from this room to the outside ofthe door. Any time. There's no problem. But that is to the oneswho are virtuous, and who live up to the way of heaven, and whomeditate and who contact the kingdom of God within. Then theydie just like walking through the door to a better room, a moreglorious world. But to those who are heavy burdened, and who donot fear God, and who do things which are not according to God'sloving law. Then, they have a lot to fear. At the time of death,they suffer tremendous pain. And also they sometimes they sinkto a little bit, lower existence which is more terrifying, moresuffering. That's what we call hell. For us, no problem. We dieevery day.
Q. I wonder if You could give us a few basic pointsof Your teachings. I have notice you have written a few books.And I just want to know very briefly, what's the few basic pointsof teachings or Your theory. What should one do to become enlightened,and to what one should believe in those basic points. Thank You.
M.I understand. Our teaching doesn't advocate any particular religion,but you stay with your own religion. And we just help you at thetime of initiation to make contact with your faith. For example,you believe in God, and we help you to see God. If you believein Buddha, fine. You'll see the BuddhM. And you can learn fromGod or Buddha directly. But through none-verbal teaching fromheaven, you see, we don't have to use language. Therefore, atthe time of initiation, I don't talk. We just sit quietly, andthen in silence you will be enlightened. Because your nature isenlightenment.
Q. Having read Your doctrine about meditation and enlightenmentand previous levels of existence You have described it soundsa bit frightening.
M.Which one? Which level?
Q. I don't know which level. There are many levels You'vementioned when one meditates. How does one overcome this kindof fear when you go into different levels?
M.The first... Maybe some of the lower levels are frightening. Butthe other ones are not. Maybe you read the first one, yeah? Thefirst level is called the Astral level. There are many tricksthere because that's a lower level. Just a level of still illusionand hell exists there also. Of course you 'night traverse it andthen maybe you encounter some kind of unfriendly beings. But themaster is there, that's why! To protect you, to pass through thisunfriendly region and to go higher. No problem. Many of my fellowpractitioners they are very happy, they are not frightened, yeah.Very, very beautiful, very excellent in feeling. You feel renewed,like you are charged with full of energy. You will be like a newborn person. You will not be frightened. OK?
Q. I would like to ask if You have been attacked bythe negative energies, causing interference in Your work?
M.Yes! Yes! You see, I have been attacked also by some of theseso called negative energies. But when they encounter the lightwhich is surrounded by a practitioner, like myself for example,then they melt like noodles, or like nothing. So I have neverbeen harmed. I never fight back. Just naturally they stopped.They just melted. One of the practitioners after she became adisciple, she told me in front of a great assembly that she wasa kind of Taoist. She practised until she can manifest a knifethat long. A knife, but invisible knife. And whomever she directedthat knife to is assured of death. And she directed that knifeto me while I was lecturing somewhere, without telling anybodybecause it's invisible. It's a form of light and sharp and aboutthat long. But when it came to me, the light that surrounded mejust melted that knife. And she surrendered. Now she became adisciple. OK. We have that even on tape. She confessed that afterbecoming a disciple. Otherwise, nobody knows. I never talk aboutit.
Q. Have you had contact with the wisdom centre in ourplanet, like Shambhala or things like this?
M.There are many people in the past with whom we can always havecontact. It's no problem. For my disciples it's already much easier.All my disciples, fellow practitioners can contact them also.And they see Jesus, Buddha, and sometimes even already at thetime of initiation.
Q. What do You think about the phenomenon of UFOs onour planet?
M.They are the other planets which are more advanced in technology.And, in our universe, there are many planets like that. Sometimesthey make UFO for sale. Maybe in the future, we can buy one. Yeah!It's not a joke.
Q. I don't understand why we say God is good, but yetthere is so much suffering in the world?
M.This is not God's fault. It is our fruit. We see things with differenteyes. We should see things with the eye. And we see the true goodnessto go into a world of none suffering. You see different. Likeall the owls the owl in the day time the sun shines brilliantly.But he never knows there is a sun. And he says there is no sun,no sun. But for us, there is a sun because we have different eyes.
Q. Yes, so when the people near You are suffering morallyand physically, with the third eye, You don't see any more?
M.If I don't want to see the evolution of this world, then I seenothing. But because of those who suffer, I come down and seeas they see it, to help them. If I want to help him, of courseI have to come down to his level and understand. And help himto go up, just like you help a child to learn ABC's even thoughyou have Ph.D. Yeah!
Q. But can we help directly by meditation? The sufferingsof the world?
M.Yes, somehow we help. But because everyone must be enlightenedhimself in order to get out of the sufferings. Otherwise it'sno use. It helps of course,just like you are a professor in theuniversity. And of course you help your children to be more intelligentby helping him with the homework. But he himself must be a Ph.D.later in order to know how to work, how to earn money, how tohave a high position in the world. So it helps a little bit. Buteach one must be enlightened. Otherwise, one Buddha enlightenedis enough, one Jesus is enough.
Q. How can children practice Your method?
M.The children when they are six years old, if they are with initiatedparents, they can be initiated into half. When they are twelve,if they have parents who also practice, they can be initiatedfull. If they don't have parents who are initiated, they haveto wait until sixteen years old. OK?
Q. Why do the parents decide for the initiation of children?
M.The children must want it. We respect young and old. And I alwaystell people never to force other people into an initiation orany kind of practice if they are not ready.
