the ETERNAL LIFE AND THE LAW OF THE UNIVERSE
Harvard University,Boston, U.S.A. October 27,1989.
My brothers and sisters, I am very happy and honoredto be with you tonight at this very old, respected and famousUniversity of America and of the world. I have long admired andheard of the name of Harvard University. So, I am feeling veryhonored to be here tonight. This is due to the generosity of theadministration of the college and also to the help of Mr. Tavantyand many others. When I saw you, I saw your glittering faces andshining purity from your hearts, I feel happy. So, I hope thatthis meeting, which started very well, will end splendidly; thatI may serve you something within two hours' or three hours' lecture;that I may satisfy some of your inmost longing for God or Buddhanature or the Tao, or that you may have a little memory of whoyou are or where you have come from.
Now, this section of this university is the law. People here studythe law of the nation, or nations, mainly study the American law,no? The law of American country. Is that right? (Audience: Yes.)So every country has different laws, but mainly to protect human'srights, to protect the order of the society, and that people areliving harmoniously together. That is the purpose of the law ofevery nation. Now, the law of every nation, of course, dependson the character, the traditions and the wishes of the majorityof the people in that country. They may agree together to bringsuch and such laws into practice in order to protect the livesof the people at large. Now when we look at our human stand-point,the laws are made by humans. But when we look from a transcendentalview which is above human capacity, then we see sometimes, eventhough laws are made by people, they are governed by some otherkind of invisible force. This invisible force we call in Sanskrit"karma." Karma is the Sanskrit name for the law of causesand retributions. Like we say in the Bible, in Christian terminology,"As you sow, so shall you reap." So when some Christianpeople question me that only the Buddhists believe in karma, Ismile and tell them the Christians also believe in karma. The Universe IsGoverned By Universal Laws Every good and grand religionhas to teach people the law of karma. Otherwise, why do they botherto teach people to do good and be good, if we have no retributionlater or any at all, or after-life at all? Why bother to be good,to do good? Because if you are bad, you are kind of naughty andsinful, you still only have this life. So the law of karma andalso consequently the law of reincarnation is very, very common. And every religion openly or secretly or I mean not hintingly, teaches this kind of law. It is the same like we have the lawin every nation in order to protect the order of the society. The law of the universe is also there to protect the order andthe well-being of all beings in the universe.
If we live in a country, we must know a little bit about the lawof that country in order to live in harmony, also not to harmourselves by committing some or transgressing the law. Now, whenwe think it over, we are not only living in a nation, but we arealso living in the universe. And every nation is a kind of a roomin a big mansion. So therefore it is an obligation to us, alsoto have to know a little bit about the universal law. After westudy the law of different nations we might notice that sometimesone law in this nation doesn't apply to the other nation. Forexample, in our country like Au Lac, or maybe America, you canhave only one wife and one husband. That is the law. Is it soin America also? (Audience: Yes.) Now if you have a second ora third, your wife or husband can take you to court and make trouble.
In Tibet, it is entirely different. Now a woman can have manyhusbands. One woman can marry the whole brothers of one family. No, I'm not joking. You may read it yourselves. You know if youread the books by Swami Vivekananda. Have you read any? Some ofthem, no? He told his experience about this. He said when he wasshocked and asked a brother why they are doing such a thing. Whyare they married to only one woman, five or six brothers. Andthe brother said: "In Tibet, it is considered selfish notto share any good thing with your brothers." So then he keepspondering about the relativity of law and sometimes morality inthis world.
Now in every country, we have to live up to the law of that countryin order not to cause problems, heartbreaks to ourselves and tothe others. So, we cannot say, "Well, Tibetans are like that,so we Americans learn to do the same." We can not. Becausewe Americans are Americans. We have our own emotions, our ownbackground of tradition, and our own judgment. We can't just imitateanyone at all. The same like the Au Lac people, the Chinese, orany other country's people. They cannot imitate the other country'stradition. They may respect their laws. But there are other kindsof invisible laws concerning emotions and a way of living thatthey can not imitate. The Law Of The UniverseIs Ever Abiding Then now we consider that when we livein every nation, we have to follow that nation's law. So now whenwe are in the universe, we must also follow our universal law. That law will protect us from degrading into a lower grade ofexistence. For example, when we are in a country, and we commitsome crimes or transgress some law, we will be put in jail orhave some kind of fine. No? (Audience: Yes.) Now if we live inthis universe and we commit something that is not suitable tothe law of the universe, then we also have to be put in some kindof other existence which is not very pleasurable for us. Thatis what we call karma, the law of retribution, "As you sow,so shall you reap."
Therefore, when we want to live in harmony and do not incur displeasurablesituations for ourselves, we should study some universal law.Universal law is not made by man, and is not changeable like human'slaw. When we see the human's law, it varies from country to country. And even the standard of morality varies from country to country. So it is hard to tell people in one country to accept the othercountry's law. But the universal law is always and always thesame. For example, in the Bible it is stated that, "Thoushall not kill. Thou shall not commit adultery. Thou shall notsteal. Thou shall love thy neighbor, love thy enemy, etc...."These will never change.
If we want to know God or our so-called Buddha nature, God orBuddha nature, for me, is the same thing. I have experienced thatthing. You may call it God or Buddha nature. I know it is thesame thing, just a different way of speaking. Now, if we wantto experience our Godly nature or Buddha nature, or what we callthe Real Face, we have to follow this law. And to follow thislaw is not the only thing that we must do. But that is the preconditionif we want to know God or we want to know Buddha nature. So inthe Bible, it is said, "Verily, I say to you, except youare born again, except you become a child, you can not enter thekingdom of God." In Taoism, Lao Tzu also said that we haveto be pure again as a child.
Also in Buddhism, one of our great Patriarchs was Hui Neng. HuiNeng was the sixth Patriarch of Zen Buddhism in China. But hewas originally, historically Au Lac born. Now I will not argueabout this, because the Chinese wanted to claim him. So we alsooffer to them. It is all right. He is universal anyhow, but justfor your information. Because I have to speak the truth, alwaysspeak the truth. If you want to know more about who he is, youcan talk to me later. We don't want to discuss about his birthplace or birth rights, just a little mentioning. Now, he saidlike this, "When I meditate, I only look into my own fault,I don't look into the others' fault." That means you becomepure, you don't criticize others, you are just like a child. Now,aren't they the same sayings? Yes? (Audience: Yes, they are.)
You are right. Because anyone who is enlightened and who has aglimpse or many glimpses into the true nature of Godhood or Buddhahoodwill say and express the same opinion. They can not say otherwise. They can only say the truth and nothing but the truth. The truthmay be strange, may be unfamiliar to many people. But nevertheless, very familiar to those who have wisdom and who are already feelingacquainted with the truth. We may say to ourselves, "I havenever learned anything before"; "I have never been tochurch"; "I have never been to any Buddhist temple.""I haven't even read any Sutras." But that doesn't meanyou do not know the truth. You might have known them or mighthave known the truth already in your previous life. Now it willtake just a little more water for the seed to germinate again.Exploit The BrainPower To Fully Develop Our Underlying Power I have just mentioned aboutMaster Hui Neng. He was illiterate. He couldn't read, couldn'twrite. But he was famous for many centuries and even more famousnow, since the Zen Buddhism, or Ch'an or the China Buddhism ismaking its way to the West. Because the God nature or the kingdomof God is within us, or the Buddha nature is inborn within us.This is what we call "wisdom" in scientific terminology,or what we explain as the 95 percent of the capability that wehave not used. Understand that? Because the scientists have provedthat we use only 5 percent of our wisdom, of our brain capacity. The one who can use 100 percent of his wisdom or intelligence, that is the Buddha, that is the Christ, that is the Lao-Tze, thatis the Krishna or Mohammed, or whoever you believe has the greatestbrain power in our world. They are the ones who know the secretof access into the whole kingdom of our intelligence. That iswhat we call the kingdom of God.
Everything lies within ourselves. The Nirvana is the same thing. Buddhas, Christ are all born outof this kingdom of God. No one has been born without this kingdomof God or without this Buddha nature, just like the waves areborn from the ocean. Now, is there any way to gain control overthis 100 percent of our intelligence? Yes, there is the way. Thereare many ways. There are short ways, long ways, big ways, smallways, easy ways and difficult ways. Some people do them with prayers, fasting, austerities or all kinds of effort. These things we haveread in the books of ancient wisdom. How people sacrificed everything inorder to find God and to find the Buddha nature. But nowadays,if we follow these rigorous paths, it is too hard, too time-consuming.We can't just go into the jungle and leave the society behind.
In the ancient time, people had less desires and less comfortin life. Even though they wanted, they couldn't have it. Nowadayswe have more temptation due to more comfort. Sometimes, we don'twant this and that. But the neighbor has it, and the wife willnot let us rest until she obtained the same, or the husband viceversa. In the olden days, people would be satisfied if they hadjust a few clothes or a little bit thing to eat. There were nonewspapers, communication, no TV, or not such-like. Thereforepeople were not tempted to want more things. So their time wasmore in plenty. They could use it to practice on their hobby liketo find God.To Find God Is TheMost Pleasurable Hobby Now, to find God is also ahobby, anyhow. For me, it is a hobby. It is a very pleasurablehobby. Now people have different hobbies, but the greatest hobby, they forget. That is how to find God, how to find the Buddha naturewithin. It is not as difficult to find God as to earn money, Imay tell you. We work very hard, 8-10 hours a day, and even thenit be squandered away very fast if we are not careful. And evenif we are careful, we can make the ends meet a little bit, anda little bit more for the old age, nothing more. But if we findthe kingdom of God, it lasts forever. Whatever intelligence, wisdom, happiness, joy we find, it will always be ours. Never ever willbe squandered away. Never ever anyone can steal it from us. Andeven then our material gain will also be on the way. Thereforein the Bible, it is said, "Seek you first the kingdom ofGod, and then all the things shall be added unto you."
That is why the ancient people they know where the everlastinghappiness is, so they practice a way of life, the Tao, practicethe Buddhist way or the Christian way. You see, I was born asa Catholic and a Buddhist, both, so I have to speak for both.I hope you don't mind. Also since Dr. Tavanty already mentionedthat we, the Au Lac people have the tradition of open-mindedness,freedom of thought, and freedom of belief. So I have to carryon our tradition to be faithful to our Au Lac tradition. In AuLac a Catholic husband and a Buddhist wife go hand in hand tothe church in the morning and go to the temple in the afternoon. Most of our people do not discriminate or make a big fuss aboutwho is the best one and what is the highest religion. If you arehappy with your religion, fine! I'm happy with mine. We may learnfrom each other some good points.Anyhow, who are we to judgethe Buddha? Who are we to judge Jesus Christ? We weren't eventhere then. We didn't even know how great they were, what didthey do. We can judge from the good laws they left behind forus, from the good preachings, from the outstanding examples oftheir sacrifices and love. Then we know Jesus was all right. Thenwe know Buddha was great. We cannot criticize them in any wayat all. For what they have done for humanity, neither of themshould be criticized. Whoever follows Christ they should be agood Christian. Whoever follow the Buddha they should be a bestBuddhist. That's all our duty. Not to criticize or not to compare.
Get EnlightenmentAnd Behold God Immediately So, therefore in every speech,I wouldn't emphasize people to follow me, to cut their hair tobecome a nun or to become a Buddhist even. If you are Christian, you remain there. If you are any at all, you remain there. Evenif you are an atheist, I also try not to convince you the existenceof God. I will only want to show you the existence of God or ofthe Buddha nature, and then you will believe. Because if we donot see God, if we do not see the Buddha nature within us, itis very difficult to believe, no? So we cannot blame the atheistsfor not believing in God. It's not everyone that are blessed withnot seeing, however believing. So for some who are not believingby not seeing, we offer the opportunity to see God or to see Buddhanature. That is what we call immediate enlightenment.
Knowing your own nature, and knowing the kingdom of God withinthat we may believe. Because when we are enlightened, whetherwe are Christians, or Buddhists or Taoists, we find the same stuff,we find the same wisdom, the same kingdom, the same Nirvana. Thereis no difference. I have been there. I found no difference. Itis one place, the same. Actually, to say "a place" isalso a way of speaking only. But must not necessarily be a placeif you are enlightened. It is a state of mind. It is a higherlevel of consciousness, of thinking, of knowing, of understanding. That is also called the kingdom of God or the Buddha nature. Itis not necessary that you fly to a beautiful place every day.
Enlightenment manifests itself in many ways. You may see beautifulplaces, planes of consciousness, planes of existence. Or you maymanifest wisdom, and virtues in everyday life in order to serveyourself, your immediate family, your nation, and the whole world. When the famous Indian Master, Sri Ramakrishna was still alive,I expect that you heard his name, no? (Audience: Yes.) W e couldn'tsay he was a Buddhist, so don't say I advocate Buddhism only.I'm very equal-minded to every great saint.
So when he was alive, of course, he had many visions about Godand he had many kinds of Samadhi. His disciples were also veryeager to have similar kinds of Samadhi. I expect you know whatSamadhi is, no? If you do not know, then I explain. Samadhi meanswhen you are in a kind of higher level of consciousness and youlose outer connection with the world. You are in communion withGod. You only see Heavenly Kingdom. You do not see the misery and thepain, and do not experience the misery and the pain of the worldor any discomfort of your body and mind. You are in bliss, inecstasy. That is what we call Samadhi. There are different levelsthough, but I'm not going into it tonight. If you have any questionslater, we can go deeper into the subject.Love Is An ExperienceSuperior To Samadhi Now his disciples saw him manytimes everyday in Samadhi, in a deep, blissful state, in deepNirvana. They also wanted the same. One of his outstanding discipleswas Swami Vivekananda, who is very famous in your country. Heasked the Master, "Could I have the same level of attainmentlike you?" And he ask many times like that, because he hadgot none. So the Master scolded him, "You fool, there arehigher levels than Samadhi." Now what is the higher levelthan Samadhi? That is of loving, of devotion. Love all creaturesas our own selves. Love the enemies as friends. Love the neighbor.Love God above all, and surrender everything to God. That is higherthan Samadhi.
But there is a trap here. We the Buddhists can also say that,we love the Buddha, worship the Buddha, and we love our neighbor,we love our friends, our enemies, that is it. But there is a differencebetween saying and really doing. Most of the human beings areincapable of such a great love, because we are not trained inthis way.
Only enlightened people are capable of such a great love, andcompassion and tolerance. Therefore we see in many nations inmany periods of time, people always fighting over ideas, overterritories, over financial benefit. But they always say thatit is in the name of love for their nation, love for their religions, love for their groups or their kinsmen. Maybe it is true thatthey love their country, so they go and fight and invade othercountries in order to benefit their own. But that is too smallthe love, it's too limited.
The love of Buddha and Christ includes the whole universe, noraces, no colors, no finances, no status. Therefore, we see thedisciples of the Buddha have many social positions, differentsocial position, different in races, different in colors, differentin social status, and different nationalities. The disciples ofChrist also the same. All kinds of disciples, all kinds of nationalities, all kinds of personalities, all kinds of different beliefs willunite themselves under the wing of an enlightened Master. Becausethe enlightened Master's love is so great. It encompasses everything, and no one feels excluded. And such enlightened souls would neverfight or side with one person or one nation or any sect or anyreligion but preach universal love, universal truth, and equalityto all. Therefore, Jesus said, "All are children of God.Whatever I can do today, you can do even greater tomorrow."He didn't say, "I'm the only son of God." He said, "Weare all the children of God. In the house of my Father, thereare many mansions and all are welcome." So Buddha also saythe same thing, "All of us can become Buddha. I have becomeBuddha, you will become Buddha. All beings have Buddha nature."These sayings denote similar ideas, understand? That is the equalityof mankind in the eyes of God or in the wisdom of the Buddha. We Can Enter TheKingdom Of God While Still Living On This Earth I have not started my missionseriously before two years. When was the first initiation? Thatwas in India. Must be in 1983, when I started, forced to start. Now is 1989. Six years, only six years since I started my mission. But I have found that truly everyone inherits the kingdom of God.Everyone has the Buddha nature. And everyone can see the Buddhanature in no time, provided he or she is willing to, is convincedthat he and she can see and is willing to let a teacher help toopen the door for them. All can see, all can enter into the Kingdom of God.There is no one, rich, poor, small, big, weak, strong, intelligent, stupid, has been refused into the kingdom of God. No one ever, not as far as I know. Therefore, I believe what Christ said istrue. We just have to become a child again and then we can enterthe Kingdom of God and right now on the earth. Why? Because theBible says, "Lo and behold, the Kingdom of God is withinyou!" The Bible didn't say the Kingdom of God is very faraway, 20,000 light years distance. (Master & everyone laugh.)No! No! No! It says, "The Kingdom of God is within you."And the Buddha said, "The Buddha is within you." Sonow both of them saying the same thing. If we want to find theBuddha, if we want to find God, we have to go within.
But how to become a child? It is not easy, we think. Truly it'snot easy, if we do it all by ourselves, but if we have the graceof God and the blessings of the living Buddha. The living Buddhais not the body. It is the power of love that flows into one bodyand to bless the whole world, understand that? So when the Buddhawas alive, he said he was Buddha. It doesn't mean he was proudof his own personality, his ego as Buddha. No! No! It means healready destroyed his own ego. He had no longer an ordinary "I,"but he was one with the Father, one with the universe, with thecreative force. So when Jesus said "I'm the son of God, Iand my Father are one," it didn't mean that he was very arrogantand proud of himself as an individual ego-self. But he knows thathe had lost himself, and merged into the ocean of consciousnessof the great wisdom.
So, how to become a child? It's very easy. We need a so-calledcleansing process. First we must vow to follow the Commandmentsof the Bible or the Buddhist scriptures again. They both say similarthings. The first in the Bible is "You shall not kill."In Buddhism, also, you do not kill. And in Hinduism also the same---ahimsa, no harm to other living beings--- that means ahimsa. Fromthat ahimsa stems the Commandments of the Bible, of the BuddhistSutras. Christ also had been in India for nineteen years. Buddhaalso had to learn first from the Vedic scriptures. Then he becameBuddha by his own right. So, if we follow the Commandments ofthe Bible or the Buddhist scriptures and we start to change ourway of life, then from that day on, also by the grace of God,we will be cleansed, be purified like a child. And then when weare purified at that moment, we see the light of God, we see theKingdom of God or so-called Buddha nature.
So when Jesus was alive, he give people baptism, to baptize people. But even he himself had to go through the process of baptism. He said,"Let the law be done." Why did he have to do that? Eventhough he was already great, and John the Baptist knew he wasgreat. But because he knew that he had to set an example of humility,of believing in grace of God to the rest of humanity. All hiswhole life is an example of humility. The Buddha Shakyamuni alsothe same. Shakyamuni was a prince, very rich in all means, verytalented. He could have the whole nation, and luxury. But he wentaround forty nine years, even after his enlightenment, to beg.His begging doesn't mean that he couldn't work or he is unableto work. Just to show many thing, many examples to humanity. Thefirst is to show us the desirelessness for the world's possessions. The second is to show us that we all have to depend on each otherin order to live. No one is higher, no one is lower. He was thefirst one to preach equality, to break down the caste system ofthe untouchable idea in India. He taught by his own example andhumility. He didn't only preach by mouth, by words, but he taughtby his life example.Embody The GreatLove Of Christ Into Your Life Every great Master does that.Jesus also did the same. He walked barefoot. He had nowhere tolay his head. Now in our days, in these modern days of our time,we couldn't follow exactly like Buddha or like Jesus. But we couldfollow it in our hearts their ways of living. We have to feela detachment for this world, and that is also renunciation. Welive in the world, but we live without the world. We shouldn'tcrave so much for the material comforts. We have them just tosustain our life, but knowing in our heart truly that the greatestones like Buddha and Jesus never care for them. We follow Buddha in this way, by detachment,by desirelessness. We follow Christ in this way by detachment,by desirelessness, and also by love for our people.
Now, the American people haveshown some of their Christianity love, of the Christ love in someof the world's interactions with other countries. For example, the American country has accepted many refugees from differentnations. That is a part of Christ love. That is how we followChrist. And as for the Au Lac people, I also have to thank theAmerican sisters and brothers who have open their arms and receivedsome of our truly in need refugees from Au Lac. That is also apart of Buddha's compassion. Therefore, I believe that if youare a good Christian, you are also a good Buddhist. There is nodifference between a Christian and a Buddhist, as long as we dogood to others.
Therefore, I never discriminate between the Buddhist believersand Christian believers. Christian people did good to mankindin many ways, and Buddhist people did good to mankind also inmany ways, just maybe different ways of doing and working. Takecare that I do not go too far into this political situation. ButI cannot help not to express my opinion. Actually because if wecannot make use practically what we learned from Christianityor what we learn from Buddhism, then what is the point? Is thatright? So, we show our religious mind through our own actions. Therefore if we say something about the world's situation, andthe amnesty, and the compassion of the American people or othercountries, that's also very fit! This fits in a religious lecture.
But, what I want to express is something more concrete than justlike that, because some people want to know God, not only to serveGod in human frame, but also want to know the God, the transcendentalGod, the transcendental Buddha nature. We see that Buddha becameBuddha by what way. We see Christ how he had become so great. There is a reason, there is a way to achieve this greatness. Justlike any science. Just like you want to study in university, youhave to have such and such condition; you must have some money, some qualifications from high school; you have to pass some exams. Now if we want to become a Buddha or Christ, apart from this greatlove that we show to other human beings, like in human work, inamnesty work, in social service, we have to know our real nature;we have to know where we come from; we have to know how greatwe are.Journeying BackTo Our Source Now, we have been great inthe past. We have come from the kingdom of God. If we haven'tcome from God, then where have we come from? God created all things. If we haven't come from this Buddha nature or the Tao, then wherehave we come from? We must start from there, from that greatestsource in the universe. So, therefore we have been great always. It's just that we forgot, that is the Truth that we forgot. Now,there is a way to remember these things again by walking backwardto the higher source, where we have come from. Just like you follow the river downto the sea. Now if you want to go back to the source of the river, walk backward. So, the kingdom of God is within us, so walk inward. There is a way to see the kingdom of God within, to see the Buddhawithin. That is what we call the enlightenment method. Go backto the original. The Buddha had followed this method to becomeBuddha. Jesus Christ had followed this method to become the sonof God.
Now if we say we are all sons of God, we are already Buddha, sowhy we need to practice? Yes, we are. But we forgot. That is nouse for us now. We have to remember again through diligent effortto go back into the past, to our own deep memory. That is what the scientistscall 95 percent dormant intelligence. In that 95 percent laysmany things. Now, with only 5 percent, we can already go to Mars;we can already go to the moon. We can already make airplanes androckets and all kinds of comfort to life. What much more if wecould use the 95 percent? The kingdom of God is ours, if we knowhow to use it. We know we are Buddha. Everybody tells us we areBuddhas, or we are the sons of God, but we don't know where thatgreatness is. We only know that we are miserable everyday, ornot everyday but I mean most of many days. I'm sorry if you arehappy, but I see the majority of people. Though they have money, have good family, status, everything is ephemeral. Look at ourcountry, the Au Lac country, it had been glorious, peaceful. Wehad many things; we were very rich in minerals, in agriculture,in culture. But then suddenly, we have nothing. Suddenly, allis turned upside down, everything destroyed. People had to leavethe country, so dangerous on the sea, and they had to fight forsurvival. Many people who came to your country have been heroesin our country, have been generals, top leaders, millionaires, billionaires in our country. They are not just all poor. Theyare not just all illiterate. They are not just all useless, helplesspeople. They have been in the glorious past, they've been themen of wisdom, of social standing, of rich, of culture. It isjust the ephemeral life turns sometimes and makes people becomenothing that humiliate our people.
Maybe it is good for them, I do not know, that we have to learnsometimes to come down, to be humble, and to know there is a greaterforce than our own hand and human brain can control. Then we haveto turn back to God, to turn back to practice to become Buddha,to rely on this great force of the Buddha nature or Kingdom ofGod. That is maybe the reason why we have to learn sometimes throughdisasters to know God. Otherwise we keep having success in ourlife and being so successful, we are carried away with it, andwe forgot where we come from. We forgot that we are greater thanjust a lawyer. We are greater than just a president, we are greaterthan just a millionaire. We are God's children; we are Buddhas. So this birthright we have to claim. It doesn't matter through what. Throughhappiness, through longing, or through disaster.Life Is Ephemeral,So Practice Before It's Too Late We have to be awakened throughmany means. Therefore, I said earlier, there are many ways tofind the wisdom within. If we don't long to find it ourselves, sometimes the Creator will send disasters to wake us. So we seethat many times, in time of stress and disaster, we pray morehonestly, more sincerely to God than when we are well-off, thanwhen we are in happiness, or in stable condition. Is it not so?So, when we have pain, or our family have people died, or somedisasters, then we pray. At that time we remember God very clearly."Please, please, please ...." So many prayers. Now,we do not need to wait until a disaster befalls us in order toremember to practice to become Buddha again or to be like Christ. We should do it when we have time, at leisure, and good conditions. So that we do not have to have experience disaster. What we callin Au Lac: To prevent is better than to cure. We all know this.Every nation will say the same thing. But we just don't do it.We just don't prevent things. We just do things, and then reapthe result and then we cry. Now we have been through life, 30,40, 50 years now. We should have known a little bit more aboutthis ephemeral nature of life. We should turn back to God now,so that the day we leave this world, God open the kingdom forus, Buddha welcome us. Not the darkness, not the evil plane ofexistence what we call Satan power, or the Negative power, orthe power of Maya.
So I'm here like everywhere else, just to offer you a way to findyour own Greatness. With God, well and good. With Buddha, it'salso well and good. Without God, without Buddha you still canfind your Greatness. Because you are that, you are born from God.You are bound to go back to God, whether you believe or not believe. You are that, you cannot escape anyhow. So I just want to offeryou what I have found as a treasure, hidden treasure within myself. And I know that the hidden treasure is within you as well. I wouldlike only to help you to know your greatness, your self-worth.And then you live in the world as king, as saint, as Christ did,as Buddha did. And not having inferiority complex, and not doingyour work well, and not sleeping well, having guilty conscience, having sickness, disease body and mind. That is my purpose. NowI will end my lecture. Thank you!
